Parenting Hell podcast shoutout!

I am so stoked – Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe gave Cornwall Geologist a small business shoutout on their Parenting Hell podcast!

I am currently trying to boost the exposure of Cornwall Geologist at the moment. Things are definitely moving slower than I anticipated whilst getting the business up and running, and I really do believe that is mostly down to not enough people knowing about it, especially the Geowalks.

So I have been doing more focussed social media postings, got some leaflets printed and distributed, and doing a monthly newsletter to boost the number of people coming to the website. I have also sent a load of emails off to television and radio groups where I feel collaborations could work.

Over the last year or so I have started to listen to podcasts and love it. I find them brilliant. A great way of learning new things, keeping up on various news, and a lovely way of switching off without having to put on the television!

One of my favourites is Parenting Hell with Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe, all about misadventures in parenting, life, and beyond. With mine and Jenna’s first child due later this year, this podcast has weirdly given me confidence that I can make it as a parent, normalising the chaos we are about to endure!

One of the great things Rob and Josh do at the end of their podcast episodes is give listeners an opportunity to write in and plug their small business on their show. I ummed and ahhed about it for a while, but decided to send them an email just to see. After a few weeks I figured it might have got lost in their email inbox, but one evening after noticing a spike in social media followers I had a message from someone saying they had heard my shoutout on the show! I was so stoked!
