Applied Geology
I have spent over two decades researching the geology of Cornwall. I specialise in granites and granite-related mineralisation, structural geology, and how regional tectonics controlled the distribution of economic mineral deposits across SW England (PhD thesis). This research is coupled with extensive fieldwork experience across the UK and overseas.
This specialist knowledge helps address technical challenges or refine strategic models for your project or company. Whether this is providing critical advice of any working models and hypotheses, or assisting with field-based data collection and analysis, Cornwall Geologist is here to help.
Geoscience Education
I have over 15 years of experience designing and delivering successful higher education geoscience courses, as well as popular outreach programmes across all educational levels. I am also a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
My specialist teaching is in field geology, geological mapping, structural geology and tectonics, igneous and metamorphic petrology, mineral deposit geology, and engineering surveying. I also have expertise in providing supervision for geoscience research projects.
