A summer of Geology Q+A sessions at Geevor Tin Mine

Throughout the summer holidays I have been hosting geology Q+A sessions at Geevor Tin Mine.

As part of my Cornwall Rocks! workshops down at Geevor Tin Mine, throughout the summer holidays on every Thursday I have been hosting Q+A sessions in the Hard Rock Museum. People have popped by for a chat and a chance to ask any questions about the geology of Cornwall (or anywhere for that matter!).

We have some amazing geology down here. Folks have come armed with questions (as I always say, there is no such thing as a silly question!), to find out more about the geological wonders that make up the landscape beneath our feet.

It has been amazing to chat to so many awesome people of all ages with loads of epic questions. Things like why is there tin in Cornwall, how was it mined, what is granite, or is mining coming back to the region? It has been a real pleasure to chat through all of these with you. It always helps being able to show them a box full of rocks and geological maps to help with my explanations as well. I even had special guests turn up last week – Jenna and Eleanor!

A massive thank you to Geevor Tin Mine for asking me to host these events. They will be back again soon, probably during the October half term. Keep an eye out on my social channels, as well as Geevor’s, to keep up to date with events taking place.

If you have any burning questions about the geology of Cornwall please don’t hesitate to get in touch! You can contact me via my website (https://www.cornwallgeologist.co.uk/contact) of by the social channels. To keep up to date with what’s on you can sign up to the Cornwall Geologist mailing list here - https://www.cornwallgeologist.co.uk/mailing-list.
