Let’s wander across the ancient land of west Cornwall, particularly the area around Bosigran and Carn Galver. This place is steeped in history, arching back to the Bronze age and possibly older. We will dig even deeper below the surface for an insight into Cornwall's turbulent geological past.

What to expect

Granites and mineralisation – Discover the origins of Cornwall’s most famous rock – granite. You will get your hands on this amazing rock and learn how to identify the minerals within, and see how their evolution gave Cornwall such rich mineral deposits.

Cornwall’s tectonic story – Experience the impact of global tectonics that moulded the dynamic Cornish landscape around us. Discover structures in the rocks and learn how the shape of the land gives up its secrets for changing tectonics through time.
